  • Litigation in International Law Issues
    • Suit for Injunction against FDA to restrain implementation of regulation concerning imported food products. Successful result when FDA delayed and then abandoned regulation.
    • Enjoined Florida from regulating pharmaceuticals in Port Everglades Foreign Trade Zone because of federal preemption; 3M Health Care, Ltd. v. Grant, 908 F.2d 918 (11th Cir. 1990).
    • Settlement of injunction action against City of Ketchikan, Alaska which sought to tax duty free stores
    • A variety of cases concerning international transportation issues, letters of credit, issues involving international sales and representation of customs brokers and freight forwarders including defense of cases of errors and omissions.
  • Intellectual Property Litigation
    • Prosecution and defense of numerous trademark and trade dress infringement actions - federal courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
    • Successful prosecution of Design Patent infringement action - Alan Tracy, Inc. v. Trans Globe Imports 60 F.3d 840 (Fed. Cir. 1995) (opinion at 1995 U.S. App. LEXIS 21587) (Appeal of treble damage award for design patent and trade dress infringement
    • Successful plaintiff’s verdict in copyright infringement action concerning computer software. Pearl, Inc. v. Competition Electronics, Inc., 8 U.S.P.Q.2d 1520 (S.D.Fla. 1988)
